Here We Stand

Here we stand on the brink of another year. It only seemed like yesterday that we were all worried about the Y2000 bug and now here it is 2010.  Let me just say about 2009 I am glad that it is over - in March DD & then BF now Fiance left to go overseas and over 15 countries later they are not home yet. They are having an experience of a life time. DH twisted his wrist at work over 10 months ago and is still not back to work full time.  He had surgery in November and is off work until mid January - say no more on having a DH underfoot. DS & wife will most probably be moving across the other side of the country.

Here are a couple of pictures from the Christmas present that DD organised for us.

She got a calender custom made with pictures of their trip for every month and everyone has their birthday in the calender. It is so beautifully done.

Now for the hard part setting goals for the Year 2010.What do  I want to achieve this year.
First Non Stitching Goals
  • Spend time daily reading God's word and learning to trust him more.  So often I hand over my problems to God and then snatch them back again.
  • Look for the positives and not the negatives.
  • Laugh more and love more freely
  • Lose weight for the sake of my health
  • Walk on the beach at least once a week
  • Learn how to use the camera properly
I am sure that there are others that I will think of later on

Stitching Goals
  • Finish Leaf
  • Finish Crabby Crush
  • DH sez I waste so much time stitching so let's just see how much time I can waste by keeping a record of my times.
  •  Do a Stash bust report - see how much stash I can use with only buying the minimun
 Goals for January
  • Finish Page 13 and do 37 lines on page 14 (288-325) on Leaf
  • Stitch 50 lines on page 5 (100-150)
  • Finish the last 20 lines on page 4 and 30 lines on page 5 of Five Snowmen
  • Stitch a little on, The Library, Snowmen Gathering, Sweet Nectar, Love Never Fails, Fallen Santa
  • Start Julia Flynn (Dear Diary) -LHN
Now that is out of the way here are a couple of pics of Five Snowmen to enjoy.

Nearly up to the tassels on his scarf.

Hasn't he got the cutest little face.

Have a Happy New Year and may 2010 be a Blessed Year for you.

Annette your snowmen are ADORABLE!!! Don't feel bad about your UFOs (or WISPs ~ works in slow progress, as I prefer to call them LOL). I started a cross-stitch of our dear dog for my DS about 12 years ago. Unfortunately the darling doggy has now gone to God ... and the cross-stitch STILL isn't finished :o/!!! One day!!!!
Hope 2010 is fabulous for you and yours!!!
Hugs,
Joy :o)

I love the calender that your daughter created for you :) I wish you well in achieving your goals for 2010... keeping track of how much time you stitch sounds like a wonderful idea... I think I might keep a diary this year of how much time I get to create - for my own benefit! whether it be crochet or cross stitching.

I love that you are stitching snowmen. As an Aussie, I always feel that it is wrong to stitch anything with a snowy theme but it doesn't stop me loving them. Maybe I need to just 'get over it'. LOL!

Your non-stitchy goals are SO very similar to mine it's almost scarey. Ha!
